Common questions

FAQ

What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brings you to therapy, your history, and your goals. It's a relaxed conversation — there's nothing you need to prepare. By the end, we'll have a sense of what working together might look like.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes! I offer secure telehealth sessions to all Arizona residents. Online therapy is a great option if you prefer the comfort of your own space, have a busy schedule, or live farther from Mesa. Sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant video platform.
How long does therapy typically last?
Therapy length varies for each person. Some clients find relief in a few months; others work with me for longer on deeper or more complex concerns. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach based on how you're feeling.
What is EMDR and is it right for me?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories. It's particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. During our consultation, we can discuss whether EMDR is a good fit for your specific needs and concerns.
How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?
The therapeutic relationship matters more than any single technique. I offer a free 10-minute consultation so you can get a feel for my style and approach before committing. Trust your gut — a good fit is one where you feel heard, safe, and understood.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is protected by law. There are a small number of exceptions — such as if there is imminent danger to yourself or others — which I'll explain fully before we begin. Otherwise, your privacy is always my priority.
